Mr. Hodgson has several years of experience in intellectual property law including preparing and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications, assisting in complex patent litigation, and preparing non-infringement and invalidity opinions.  Mr. Hodgson's specialty areas include semiconductor processing, semiconductor process equipment, optical thin films, IC packaging, telecommunication, electrical circuits, biomedical and mechanical devices.

Mr. Hodgson has worked with several clients to establish patent policies and procedures and to create a working patent program.  In addition, Mr. Hodgson has worked with clients to extract value from the client’s existing intellectual property.  In patent licensing negotiations, Mr. Hodgson has represented a broad range of clients including patent owners and alleged patent infringers.  Mr. Hodgson has also made presentations to Silicon Valley Intellectual Property attorneys on various practical aspects of U.S. patent law and the Patent Cooperation Treaty.
